Nikon Focus Shifting
I have had my Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 macro for a few years. It's application has always felt somewhat restricted by the very shallow depth of field at optimum apertures. After having my Nikon D810 for more than four years, I acquired the Nikon D850 this week. The D850 is equipped which automatic "focus shifting" to automatically produce any size set of images for "photo stacking".
I use Capture One, so I downloaded "Helicon Focus Pro" to run some tests using my 105mm Macro.
Attached are my first to practice images - each along with closeup cutouts of the two originals. Depth of field is no longer an obstacle for my macro lens at f/5.6.
@rstesch That’s a great workspace! So neat and tidy! Do you do astrophotography with that Meade?
I did a little astrophotography a long time ago. I have the attachment to mount any of my Nikon cameras onto it.
