So here is the workflow.
I click on the link in an email. It takes me to the post. I log in and am taken to Wordpress. Then I click on the cafe. Then I look to see which post I am replying to. If there have been other posts and my post is now not shown then I need to go back to the email to find the link. Pretty cumbersome.
I do have the cafe link bookmarked. But the workflow is from the email notification. In the past I stayed on the post after I logged in.
Hi Ulana @uswitucha,
Are you forced to login every single time you come here? That should not happen if click that remember me box when you login. Unless you’re running a browser that deletes all session info when you exit, like a private browser or a browser in private/safe mode.
Can you pls check and let me know?
I usually start here because I can see all of the recent posts: http://guerboiscafe.com/forums/recent/
Using the menu it is Home > Forums > Recent Posts
Yes I have checked the box Remember Me but the same thing occurs. The password is saved but I am directed to the Wordpress Home page. Its odd as the other saved logins go directly to the sites without passwords - and this one used to until the recent changes. Safari is the default browser on my Mac laptop. I tried in Google and the same thing happened.
Have you tried at your end? Do you have to go the same route?
Good suggestion but normally I start from the email notification.
No luck. Even if I use John's method I still go to the Wordpress page upon login (and Remember Me) and need to navigate back to the cafe step by step. Getting emails adds more steps. This did not happen prior to the changes.
I tried to attach a screenshot of where I get sent but not sure if you can see it below
Hi Ulana @uswitucha,
I have brute-force changed the code to redirect you specifically, upon login, to the forum page. I wanted to remove this annoyance for you and hope it works. I will look into specifically why this is happening in more detail later. I may have to find a convenient time to set up a screen share session with you, but for now, you should be good.
Please let me know and apologies for the annoyance.
Thank you Raaj. I am now taken to the Forum home page which eliminates a couple of steps. If I use John's method I am taken to his suggested page. There is still no immediate route from the email workflow but I think this is close enough. Appreciate the extra effort with the mysteries of technology.
