West Coast Rainforest - Closer to home
Hi Ulana - great you are able to get out and shoot, anywhere, not to mention this beautiful forest. I can almost smell the cedar.
I prefer the first image with the big, strong, super-mossy limbs sweeping down from right to left. The tree trunk seems more massive and its darker tones offset nicely the brighter limbs to the left.
I know you are not a techno-geek, but the scene would lend itself to focus-stacking. Both for more in-focus-ness through the trees as well as you subtly painting in/out focus in selected areas.
LOL. Indeed. Luckily I did take a few shots of each composition at a shallower DOF. Good suggestion.
As you know its been a spectacular summer on the west coast but not ideal for woodland photography. This trip to the mossy trees was on the only day of fog and real rain. And yes the aroma was intoxicating.
